GLADNET (Global Applied Disability Research and Information Network on Employment and Training) Annual General Meeting
Geneva, May 27th & 28th 1999

The main themes of the Conference are 'Co-operative Working' and 'Access Technology'. The project will aim to have the access guidelines adopted by the members of GLADNET.

CSUN Conference - Technology and Persons with Disabilities
March 16-20, 1999, Los Angeles

This was the 14th Annual International Conference hosted by California State University, Northridge. It was designed to bring together as many different constituent groups as possible. "We consider it a success when consumers, parents, teachers, government officials, and vendors meet [...] to discuss common interests".

SiNHaR 98 (The Seventh Edition of the National Symposium of Non-governmental Organisations of Disabled People in Romania) Bucharest, 5-7 November 1998

The project was invited to act as facilitators to two of the workshops in the above conference:

• Workshop 1 - Sources of Funding
• Workshop 3 - Changing Social Life, Computers and the Internet

In addition to facilitating, a summary of the project was given along with a demonstration of the Information Service, including the accessible design issues.

4th European Digital Cities Conference: Changing Patterns of Urban Life
29-30 October 1998, Salzburg, Austria

This conference focused on the following topics:

• Identification of best telematics solutions to urban problems
• Progress of Digital Sites projects
• Urban utopia: vision of the digital city of tomorrow

The key players involved in these developments were represented among the conference participants: local and regional authorities, research institutions, industry and operators from all over Europe.
