Objectives

  • Identify and disseminate good practices in the promotion of digital literacy aimed at people with disabilities.
  • Provide people with disabilities the essential skills needed to take an active part in the knowledge society and the new media culture.
  • Learn and transfer good practices across Europe to reach an European awareness of this local problem.
  • Improve the quality of life of this group, and improve their opportunities to reach social inclusion and employment.
  • Influence local and regional organisations, informing of the importance of including people with disabilities in the design of e-learning policies.

Approach

All the activities planned in this project are intended to identify and disseminate good examples promoting digital literacy, and how they affect a group with very special needs: people with disabilities.
The specific types of activity planned are:

  • Create documentation of good case studies related to e-learning and people with disabilities.
  • Create the European Ability Office of “E-inclusion for people with disabilities”.
  • Celebrate Conferences in all the partner’s cities, related to “People with disabilities and the digital divide”.
  • Celebrate three Transnational Meetings.
  • Transfer the good case studies to local and regional public organisations, and to all partners and all their local and regional public organisations.
