GMY Network

Greater Manchester Youth Network is the sole charity in Greater Manchester specifically dedicated to representing both statutory and voluntary youth organisations on a county-wide basis. The Network's purpose is to support youth organisations in developing high quality work and opportunities for all young people. Our network membership constitutes volunteer, part-time and full-time youth workers from 200 youth groups, clubs and projects throughout Greater Manchester. These organisations provide services and support to over 10,000 young people. The Network is administered by Toucan Trust.

GMY Network's objectives:

  • To help identify the support needs of youth organisations, and seek solutions and strategies to address these needs
  • To act as a focus for links between voluntary youth organisations and other community and governmental organisations
  • To work with statutory, private and voluntary partners wherever appropriate
  • To disseminate information about training, funding and other opportunities
  • To disseminate information about relevant government/statutory legislation, initiatives and services
  • To encourage and support the implementation of quality youth work, and organisational standards within the sector
  • To work towards equality of opportunity, in all aspects of work with young people
