last updated: 17 Nov 05 social enterpriseRural ChangeThe RURAL CHANGE project is funded through ESF article 6 programme and is in response to rural change in the European Union. It is in general, concerned with the effects of economic change in rural communities, and specifically to address the issues of enterprise and creation of entrepreneurial opportunities in these rural areas. The project leader is Malaga County Council, from Spain. The kick off meeting was held in Malaga from 23rd to 25th February 2005. There are a number of specific actions that the partners will carry out linked to a programme directed by Malaga. Initially each partner will establish a set of databases/information about the current situation of entrepreneurial activity in each of the partner locations. Each partnership will establish a Rural Entrepreneurship Network, including
a set of “good practices”. The network of partners will facilitate
a series of study visits and experience exchanges for entrepreneurs. The
project is funded for 2 years; 2005 and 2006. Velas – Azores – July 2005
