Joint Forces

EU: AGIS Programme
DG: Justice and Home Affairs

The final conference for Joint Forces was held in Malmo in October 2004.
The European Community funded project, Joint Forces, has looked at how the social services, schools and the police co-operate in 7 European cities in their daily fight against juvenile delinquency. We have gathered good practices from each city.

Joint Forces aims at strengthening European police officers working with juvenile delinquency among 2nd and 3rd generation youth of an immigrant background.

It also aims at developing structured multidisciplinary strategies for co-operation between police, social workers, schools etc for combating juvenile delinquency, as this is often a track to organised crime or drug-related crime.

The project associates 8 cities (police force, schools, social services and one researcher) from 7 countries. Presentation of results at the final conference to all Member States and all 11 candidate countries. Maintainance of a network so as to continue disseminating information and experience and share practices.

Activities: work meeting, police exchanges, research, local activities and a final conference for 75 participants invited from all member states and candidate countries. Internal evaluation.
